If you haven't already experienced a Fair Isle Work Camp the National
Trust for Scotland can be contacted via
http://www.nts.org.uk/index-highland.html
For further information about the Thistle Camps
check out their webpage at

Be warned - a Fair Isle Camp is unlike any other. Here you
will be working with, and made to feel part of, a vibrant community.
In the most part you will be working with crofters,
helping in a multitude of jobs such as ditching, building fences or
repairing fences, hay or silage making, drystane diking, weeding etc. Some
years there will also be the opportunity of communal jobs - repairing
walls or fencing on the skattald, perhaps even painting the markings on
the island's airstrip!
But above all, there is community participation. You
will find a warm welcome on Fair Isle not only for your help on the
crofts, but also for your participation in social and community events!
