Ewen studied at The Newark School of Violin Making, graduating with merit. In 1991, when he returned to his home on Fair Isle, Shetland, he set up a workshop and has since been restoring and making violins, violas and 'cellos. His instruments are based on classical Italian models and are played by musicians throughout the British Isles. Work includes commissions from the Mendelssohn on Mull Trust. |
